The Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Site Administrator to support the delivery of a historic restoration construction project.

You will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the site office, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office proficiency and excellent organisational skills. As a key liaison between site teams, subcontractors, and head office, you will help to maintain the highest standards expected in prime residential developments.

This role will be site-based.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the site management team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date site documentation, including drawings, permits, and compliance records.
- Prepare and format reports, schedules, and correspondence using MS Word and Excel.
- Assist in tracking deliveries, managing inventory logs, and coordinating with suppliers.
- Assist with timesheet collection, payroll coordination, and subcontractor documentation.
- Organise and minute site meetings, inspections, and client/visitor walkthroughs.
- Ensure all health and safety documentation is current and accessible.
- Support procurement processes and maintain records of materials and equipment.
- Liaise with architects, designers, and consultants when necessary, to ensure smooth communication flow.

About You

- Proven experience in a similar administrative role within the construction or property sector would be beneficial.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- A valid driving licence is essential due to the location of the site.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to join our Science & Higher Education team. This role is ideal for a Surveyor with a strong background in change management, cost control, and contract administration within a main contracting environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead commercial management of construction projects.
- Manage and evaluate change events, ensuring robust cost forecasting and reporting.
- Prepare and review cost plans, tender documentation, and procurement strategies.
- Administer NEC and JCT contracts, including subcontractor procurement and payment processes.
- Collaborate closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure commercial and compliance objectives are met.
- Maintain detailed records of all project changes and ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
- Produce monthly valuations, manage risk and opportunity registers, and support project reporting.

About You

To be considered as a Quantity Surveyor, you will have:

- A minimum of five years’ experience in quantity surveying, ideally with a main contractor.
- Proven experience in managing change control on complex, high-value construction projects.
- Experience of working in the science/laboratory sector is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contract forms.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- A degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- RICS membership or be working towards chartership is preferred.

The Role

As a Site Manager, you will ensure the safe, effective and timely delivery of all site operational aspects of the project.

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day short-term planning of projects, ensuring key elements are delivered safely, in line with specifications and on time, and that project delivery is consistent with our strategy, goals and quality standards.

Leading by example, you’ll oversee positive and effective communication between our site delivery, design and supply chain teams and ensure compliance with Business Processes as defined within the BMS, as well as health and safety standards.

The Role

As a Design Manager, you will manage the design process to deliver technically compliant, cost-efficient, and coordinated design packages during both the pre-construction and project delivery stages.

You will bring together specialist subcontractors, design team members, and consultants, creating a collaborative environment to deliver design information that meets our customers’ requirements and conforms to building regulations.

Managing your time on-site across your projects, you will have several key responsibilities:

- Preparing and managing on-time design information release.
- Overseeing the timely production and approval of technical drawings.
- Chairing design workshops.
- Co-ordinating complex design packages.
- Validating and interrogating design details, adding value to the construction process.
- Providing expert guidance and technical support, working closely with project stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, as well as ensuring compliance with all statutory, legal, and planning requirements.
- Preparing, implementing, and updating trackers to monitor the quality, compliance, timely production, and progress of consultants’ and subcontractors’ design at all project stages.
- Following best practice principles through all project stages.
- Undertaking design assurance and buildability reviews, ensuring that design deliverables are met and that alignment with commercial strategy is always maintained.
- Monitoring risk, converting opportunities, and recording and assessing the impact of change on the project.
- Reviewing the selection and scope of suitable subcontractors for specialist design packages.
- Ensuring accurate and comprehensive records are maintained.
- Managing the production of handover manuals.
- Working with our document controllers in the set-up and management of the project’s common data environment.
- Overseeing sample, mock-up, and control sample production and approval, including occasional supplier visits and material selection trips.

About You

To be considered as a Design Manager, you will need to demonstrate:

- Proven background of experience in managing the design process on complex projects. Heritage experience would be advantageous.
- Experience with managing Design and Build or Contractor Design Portions.
- Able to attend projects in Central London with occasional travel outside.
- An appetite for CPD.
- A track record of successfully managing people and processes.
- Deep understanding of planning procedures, building regulations, listed building consents, CDM Regulations, and other third-party requirements.
- Knowledge of the commonly used provisions of the Standard Forms of Contract.
- The ability to robustly interpret and interrogate drawings and technical specifications.
- High attention to detail and quality.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving ability.
- Understanding of software such as AutoDesk, Revit, BIM Collab, or Navisworks.
- A relevant professional qualification or working towards (MCIOB, RIBA, RICS).
- Appropriate CSCS card.
- A construction-related degree (desirable).
- Understanding of cyber and physical security and discretion and diligence in handling sensitive information is essential.

As an M&E Services Manager, you will manage building services designs and information for a portfolio of specific projects.

You will be responsible for producing detailed commissioning programmes and managing the entire commissioning process, ensuring seamless integration of all building services.

- A clear and concise understanding of CDP requirements, processes and responsibilities
- Working knowledge of temporary services and site logistic requirements
- Experience in successfully dealing with Utility suppliers
- Ability to understand subcontractor’s contractual responsibilities
- An understanding of standard/commonly used contractual provisions
- Sufficient commercial acumen to compare subcontractor submissions against cost plans and identify over valuation in subcontractor applications
- Ability to identify change and assess the resulting implications
- Ability to prepare professional and accurate technical appraisal documents for submission
- A comprehensive understanding of commissioning access requirements
- Significant experience of Walter Lilly market sectors and a general understanding of the complexities involved with such projects
- Ability to understand the landscape of Walter Lilly clients and consultants, the different roles, their competition and peers
- Ability to understand what information is needed to report internally on relationships and project opportunities
- Good construction knowledge with good knowledge of Walter Lilly standard forms and procedures
- Appropriate level of IT competency with the ability to utilise Walter Lilly systems
- Experience of successfully completing several projects of varying value, type and complexity as the MEP lead

Additionally, you will take charge of the management and coordination of all utilities installations and related statutory authorities, working collaboratively across all departments in alignment with the Inter-Departmental Integration of Activities Schedule.

About You

To be considered as an M&E Services Manager (Mechanically Biased), you will need to demonstrate:

- Qualifications appropriate to the role
- Ability to obtain/maintain CSCS accreditation
- Extensive MEP technical knowledge and the ability to comprehensively interrogate all technical information, design details and identify potential design issues
- Ability to take responsibility for a complete building or package of works from receipt of design to handover
- Experience working on laboratory fit-outs and large-scale projects and an understanding of the complexities involved with such projects
- An understanding of programming principles and how MEP integrates with the building fabric
- Ability to review, understand and challenge construction and pre-construction programmes and progress reports
- Familiarity with the Walter Lilly Supply Chain members and knowledge of their capabilities and relevant experience
- A clear and concise understanding of CDP requirements, processes and responsibilities
- Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices
- Working knowledge of temporary services and site logistic requirements
- Experience in successfully dealing with Utility suppliers
- Ability to understand subcontractor’s contractual responsibilities
- An understanding of standard/commonly used contractual provisions
- Sufficient commercial acumen to compare subcontractor submissions against cost plans and identify over-valuation in subcontractor applications
- Ability to identify change and assess the resulting implications
- Ability to prepare professional and accurate technical appraisal documents for submission
- A comprehensive understanding of commissioning access requirements
- Ability to understand the landscape of Walter Lilly clients and consultants, the different roles, their competition and peers
- Ability to understand what information is needed to report internally on relationships and project opportunities
- Good construction knowledge with good knowledge of Walter Lilly standard forms and procedures
- Appropriate level of IT competency with the ability to utilise Walter Lilly systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, inspiring and motivating others in the process
- Willingness to work as part of a team, reporting into lead M&E Manager and Construction team PM

The Role

As an Electrical Installer, you will manage, install, and maintain temporary electrical systems and services across a number of construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project requirements.

In addition, you will provide support in ensuring Walter Lilly is in full compliance with current electrical installation and testing regulations and will be expected to uphold Walter Lilly's high standards of work at all times.

The requirements of this role include, but are not limited to:

- Installing temporary electrical systems for site operations (e.g., lighting, power distribution, welfare facilities).
- Conducting regular inspections and testing of electrical installations in accordance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations).
- Troubleshooting and repairing electrical faults promptly to minimise downtime.
- Ensuring all temporary electrics comply with health and safety legislation, including HSE guidelines and CDM regulations.
- Liaising with the Site Services Supervisor, site management, and subcontractors to co-ordinate electrical needs.
- Maintaining accurate records of installations, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Supervise or co-ordinate with electricians and electrical subcontractors on-site.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will:

- Have an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
- Hold an ECS Gold Card or JIB-approved electrician status.
- Hold 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification.
- Have experience in temporary site electrics (construction, events, or infrastructure projects).
- Have knowledge of site safety procedures and risk assessments.
- A full UK driving licence.
