The Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Construction Manager to lead the successful delivery of state-of-the-art science and research facilities. Working on highly technical, fast-paced projects, you will play a key role in managing construction activities from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge laboratory, research, and innovation spaces that support world-leading scientific and technological advancement. You will collaborate closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver complex buildings with specialist services and high-performance environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day site operations across complex science and technology construction projects
Lead and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure efficient project delivery
Ensure all works are carried out in line with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
Monitor programme performance and proactively manage risks, delays, and site challenges
Drive high-quality workmanship and ensure compliance with technical specifications and client requirements
Work closely with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and design teams
Oversee logistics planning, sequencing of works, and site coordination activities
Support cost control and commercial performance in collaboration with the wider project team
Chair site meetings and provide regular progress updates and reports
Promote a collaborative, solutions-focused culture on site
About You
To be considered as a Construction Manager, you will need to demonstrate:
Proven experience in a Construction Manager role delivering complex building projects
Previous experience working on science, laboratory, healthcare, pharmaceutical, technical, or high-specification projects is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building services coordination, and health & safety legislation
Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
Organised, proactive, and confident in solving technical and operational challenges
Able to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications preferred
A passion for delivering high-quality, technically advanced buildings that make a meaningful impact
A full UK driving licence is highly desirable
